Visiting the Grand Canyon in Arizona I saw before my eyes, tall red mesas over the hot sterile desert.

About Valley Morning Star

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Valley Morning Star.

Huge massive towers of frozen lava like piled up in strange natural formations, mute witnesses in standing ovation and gratitude to God's eternal artistry.

Saguaro cactus flowers were all lined up through the entry way, but in the lower arid flat sandy spreads, the quick sidewinder slid in fast "S" shape locomotion, and in predictable subterfuge it withdrew from my sight.

Sidewinder got away from the intruder, invader of the desert floor and found narrow leaf yuccas and hid under a bore.

Early morning near the canyon the soft color soundless symphony of genius begins, as the minutes go by, you see different silvery hues, tones with brightness that make this place unique in the world. Blues are not blue but soft shades of a darker magma, a mix of colors to be revealed by the sun light, reds aren't red yet as the first lights of day are slowly creeping into the scenery. Blacks are everywhere, darkness reigns supreme until the artist palette rolls out.
It is quite stunning to see the raw bare colors of a dazzling natural beauty and wonder of the world, budding before your eyes, as if a new event a new gift was being slowly unwrapped every morning.

The canyon itself is a huge black hole that entraps all light in its depth, mysterious silence of a natural miracle.

Cross canyon transept cutting through the deep jagged earth, with a fresh green lining of Indian grass and ocotillo flowers, hanging on the sided granite gorge.

Canyons, deep canyons everywhere, with serrated teeth on their slopes, sleepy dinosaurs laying in the hot sun.

At a distance a bluish gem, cut in multifaceted angles, a precious diamond molded in the guts of the planet.

People are perched at the edge of the rugged point, they want to view the expansive miles; listen to the wind murmuring and chiming in their ears, the early bright sunshine softly kissing their cheeks, while feeling the void of the chasm below.

Arizona canyon, the grand cathedral of the Colorado river carved in rusty iron stones through the slow passing of time.
Arizona geological depression, the grand heritage library of Alexandria containing scrolls and parchments of water, earth, wind, and fire.

I want to be the next chapter of your geological past, the latest tempo of an opera in cataclysmic abyss, to save all humanity living on your recent crust.

I want to be your guest for the dinner show, the remnant snow that is left every spring, covering white blanket over your ridges, melting away and leaving nothing behind.

Heavy rain clouds are moving in,
they dump precious liquid in a flash
over the giant North Rim,
painting the rainbows arch
with the mighty star king.

At dusk, clouds above are leaving their shadow on the butte terrain,
flying with the last golden rays, scary ghosts and prehistoric creatures buried under the night arriving.

Some comments from the author:

The description of the Grand Canyon begins at dawn with soft colors, darkness and light, to finally end up at dusk. In essence, we have a full day here during which we can see the natural changes passing by through our eyes.
The red mesas are not really of volcanic origin, instead, they're the result of centuries of erosion and other climate phenomena, while buttes and promontories are standing up like statues in a temple.

The sidewinder represents the typical fauna of the desert floor, just as ocotillo and saguaro flowers are to the flora.
I mention the Alexandria library, which was precisely located in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, and had the greatest concentration of human knowledge in the ancient world. Unfortunately, its collection was destroyed by fire. Moreover, the Grand Canyon in my opinion is a great library of natural events that have occurred over millions and millions of years.

"The next chapter of your geological past, the latest tempo of..." In reference to the human race that is now altering natural settings, the environment, changes that will affect our future.

"Living on your recent crust" Is about modern civilization that occupies the newest layers of continental plates, while deeper ones date back to eons of early earth formation.

"I want to be your guest..." In this part I desire to be part of the environmental effort to save the planet, to participate on activities leading to conservation.

"Melting away and leaving nothing behind" Refers to visitors who start fires and leave trash on the park, leaving nothing behind would be a good start to correct that.

The rainbow is one of the magical moments at the canyon, reason why I couldn't have left it out.

The mighty star king is, of course, the sun.

At day's end, shadows are quickly moving over the terrain like ghosts wandering the valleys and plateaus.
